Hi, I'm Jackson Smith! I am a photographer and aspiring screenwriter-director.

It all started in seventh grade when I auditioned for a role in Karen Allen's short film, A Tree A Rock A Cloud. I got the part and as soon as I stepped on set for that first take, I fell in love with filmmmaking. From there I went on to do work for visual effects pioneer, Douglas Trumbull, who taught me the innovation required to work in the film industry but also that nothing is impossible in this world.

In June of 2022 I decided to try my hand in Los Angeles where I started working as a 2nd AC. Four years later and here I am back again, working as an AC and working on a feature length documentary about my aforementioned late great mentor, Mr. Trumbull.
